Orhun Kartal, born in 1969 in Manisa, graduated from Ankara Science High School in 1986. He completed his undergraduate education in 1991 at Boğaziçi University, Department of Civil Engineering.
He has over 25 years of managerial experience in construction, contracting, real estate, and energy sectors, with entrepreneurial expertise. Orhun Kartal has led the development and delivery of numerous contracting and construction projects across more than seven countries on three continents, managing over 6,000 employees. While focusing on construction, energy, and agriculture sectors, he has made significant contributions particularly in renewable energy projects, especially solar energy. Additionally, he continues to invest in agricultural production and real estate.
From 1991 to 2012, he served as Chairman and Co-Founder of Kayı İnşaat A.Ş. In 2013, he founded Hun Group of Companies to develop, operate, and invest in renewable energy projects such as hydroelectric and solar power plants. He currently serves as Chairman and Founder of Hun Group, which operates solar power plants with a total capacity of 120 MW in Turkey and Eastern Europe, as well as a 40 MW hydroelectric power plant in Turkey.
In 2017, he acquired Koray Construction and Real Estate Group, where he serves as Chairman and Majority Shareholder. Koray Construction and Real Estate Group has successfully completed numerous construction projects including shopping malls, hotels, towers, educational buildings, school campuses, and residential projects in Turkey and internationally in countries such as Russia, the UK, Jordan, Azerbaijan, and Saudi Arabia. He is married and has three children.
